CEN-CENELEC Workshop “Lens-based adaptor system for coupling fibre optic to laser sources” (MIRACLE)

This CEN-CENELEC Workshop aims to share the findings on ‘Lens-based adaptor system for coupling fibre optic to laser sources’ resulted from a European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation project.
The Workshop puts forward the ‘Adaptor-based coupling system’ as a solution for coupling a mid-infrared (MIR) laser to an optical fiber. This device can provide attractive advantages over the commonly used solutions (e.g. using parabolic mirrors). The proposed solution provides more stability to vibration, while it is cheaper, and more user-friendly.
As this device can have several different industrial applications, the CEN-CENELEC Workshop aims to share this knowledge with the European and worldwide industry.
The workshop intends to elaborate a CEN-CENELEC Workshop Agreement (CWA) to start standardization of a lens-based coupling adaptor system for fibre optic, intended for coupling fibres to mid-infrared laser sources.
