On the 8th and 9th of March 2018, the #next.photonics_forum entitled “Winning the future – Europe’s age of light” took place at the Museum of Fine Arts and the Bluepoint Conference Centre in Brussels.
During the first day of the symposium, different talks provided inspiration for the second day where the Photonics PPP strategies were discussed for the next EU framework programme. In nine separate workshops, divided into topics such as Industrial Manufacturing or Design & Manufacturing, the state-of-the art of the projects promoted by Photonics21 PPP was presented.
Challenges and opportunities for light-based research in Europe were debated by all workshop attendees. The MIRACLE project was represented by Dr. Johannes Koeth (Nanoplus), who presented the project in the Life Sciences & Health workshop, and by Julian Haas (Ulm University).
