Optics and Photonics Days (OPD 2021), the annual central event in the area of Optics and Photonics in Finland, was held in Turku, Finland, on the 1st to 3rd of December 2021. The conference featured four industrial sessions, four academic sessions, a poster session, a job fair session, a Women in Optics and Photonics session, and a company exhibition. 220 registrations, 60 posters and 30 company exhibitors created a great atmosphere to share and connect academia and industry and grow optics and photonics.
The MIRACLE project is an excellent example of the enabling power of such collaboration and how business and research complement each other and together create innovation, the MIRACLE system being an example of the outcome of that innovation.
