The MIRACLE probe has been successfully tested in a cadaveric fetlock joint of a horse at Utrecht University.

With the current size and configuration of the probe head, it appeared to be possible to reach and position the probe head perpendicular on the articular cartilage surface of a substantial area using just one single instrument portal.

From a surgical point of view, handling of the instrument is very much similar compared to the current practice of examination of the cartilage surface with use of a standard hook probe.

Therefore, surgeons can easily adapt to use this innovative instrumentation without the need of major changes of the arthroscopy procedure itself.
