September-October magazine of the International Organization for Standardization, ISO Focus, addresses innovation and its close relation with standardization.
Since almost a decade, standardization players are aware that a close collaboration with research and innovation is a strategic objective.
In CEN and CENELEC, the European Standards Institution, there is a specific Innovation Plan supported by the European Commission through the FP7 and H2020 programs, and to be improved in the future Horizon Europe. This goal aims to include the standardization environment inside the Innovation project and to produce a standardization document, which resumes the success of the project bringing the innovative technology to the market.
From the European level, the relevance of innovation has taken a worldwide dimension and the International Organization for Standardization, ISO, has dedicated its October 2020 magazine, ISO Focus, to highlight the relevance of the innovation and standardization.
As example of this vision, MIRACLE Project has integrated into its vision the close collaboration with standardizers, being UNE, the Spanish Standards Body, one of the partners of the Consortium.
